Description
This course introduces the students to the major types of literature: fiction, poetry, and drama as exemplified in the works of prominent writers from antiquity to the present. Emphasis is given to understanding basic literary and critical concepts as well as instruction in the writing of a short critical essay. Special attention is given to the work of Black authors.
