Description

This course provides a broad survey of World literature that will introduce students to representative examples of literature from Asian, African, European and Native American cultural traditions. Students will learn about the origins and development of epic and lyric poetry, drama, and fiction in various world cultures. Discussion and writing assignments about course texts will address the enduring human values such literary works embody as well as the features that make the works historically and culturally distinct.
